Please The Palate Pick of the Week: Studio Movie Grill

With the ability to watch movies from our homes, heading to the movie theater is not as common today. But, there is something special about sitting back in a large dark theater with surround sound and watching a movie on the big screen. At Studio Movie Grill, watching a movie combines the grandeur of watching a movie on a big screen with the comfort you would get at home. Add in-theater dining and personal service and that is why Studio Movie Grill is the Please The Palate Pick of the Week. Studio Movie Grill, established by Brian Schultz in 1993, is the first movie theater concept to offer in-theater dining. He started with one theater in 1993 and today there are more than 250 screens throughout the United States. Studio Movie Grills can be found in 34 locations across California, Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, North Carolina, Texas, Pennsylvania, Indiana and Virginia. Each theater is equipped with laser projection and Q-SYS sound systems. But the best part are the custom luxury recliner seats. These comfortable seats not only recline and have adjustable neck rests, but they also have seat warmers and chillers for your drinks. With seats like these, you will never want to leave! Like most movie theaters today, you want to reserve your seats in advance. Then, at Studio Movie Grill, arrive 15 or 20 minutes early so that you can get comfortable and peruse the menu. Whether you want appetizers, such as gourmet popcorn, hummus, crispy wings, edamame, chips and salsa, cheese and fruit or avocado toast, or a full meal, such as coconut shrimp and chicken, a burger, mac + cheese, a quesadilla, salads or flatbreads, Studio Movie Grill’s American Grill menu offers a full-service bar and in-theater dining. There is also a kid’s menu. And if you have a sweet tooth, you can order the typical boxes of candy (fyi they have Twizzler instead of Red Vines) or order ice cream or doughnuts. Press the service button at your seat and your server will come to you to take your order. Your food will be served to you and placed on the trays connected to your seat so that you can enjoy the food while you watch the movie. Your server will drop the check at your seat and you can pay when the movie ends. What really seals the deal with Studio Movie Grill is that it is a company that practices conscious capitalism. All employees make a living wage. And, the company has established SMG Outreach, committed to helping the communities in which they serve. And, if you want to help, you can sign up for SMG Access. You get rewards while also giving community members in need access to moves and meals. For example, for every $1 you spend, you earn 4 points. When you have earned 1000 points, you will get a $10 eBonus card AND one movie and one meal will be donated to SMG’s Movies and Meals program. Luxurious seating, in-theater dining and giving back to the community, Studio Movie Grill is the Please The Palate pick of the week.
