01 May Please The Palate Pick of the Week: Efficiently Storing Open Wine Bottles with the Fridge Wine Saver

Do you find that there is never enough space in your refrigerator, especially for those open bottles of wine?  I know when I have open bottles, I have trouble fitting them in my fridge and have to tuck them wherever I can find room, sometimes on top of food. But, I recently got a fun wine gadget called the Fridge Wine Saver and this spill-proof wine holder is the Please The Palate pick of the week.

I taste a lot of wine and usually my Coravin. But, then there are times that I open up a few bottles of wine and don’t finish them in one sitting. So, I pop the cork in and try to find room in my refrigerator. I always get nervous that the cork might pop out or the wine will leak. But, I cannot stand the bottle up in my refrigerator and it is too tall, especially with the cork sticking out. I have tried to stick the bottle in the side door, but it always has to sit at an angle and slides out of place when I open the door.

But, now I have The Fridge Wine Saver, a sloped plastic case that lets you lay the bottle horizontally in the refrigerator. The wine will not spill or drip and can be placed on any shelf!

The Fridge Wine Saver comes in two sizes, one for a 750ml bottle of wine and one for a 1.5 liter magnum. They can be placed on any shelf in the refrigerator and can be placed horizontally or vertically.

Now when I have open bottles, they rest comfortably in the refrigerator and I do not worry about anything rolling off the shelf when I open the doors.

For $20, the Fridge Wine Saver is a pretty useful item in the refrigerator and I can also use it on the counter if I want.
