Happy New Year! Wow! How is is possible that 2022 has passed already!?!?! Each year seems to fly by faster and faster. As I look back over the past year, I realize that I traveled 118 days of the year and organized and promoted more than 20 events. For a year that started out quiet and slow, it turned out to be very busy and eventful. And I still cannot believe how much travel I was able to do this year. I traveled around California with 4 trips to San Francisco, 1 trip to Sonoma, and 2 trips to Napa. There were 5 trips to Santa Ynez, 3 trips to Paso Robles, 1 trip to the San Luis Obispo Coast, and 1 trip to Temecula. I also took two trips to Chicago and two trips to New York and one trip to Houston. And there was international travel with one trip to Mexico, one trip to Portugal, and three trips to Italy! And, with regards to writing, I wrote more than 230 stories which appeared in various outlets and in my blog! In addition, I contributed 28 wine entries to the Slow Wine Guide USA 2023 which will be coming out soon. So in the end, 2022 turned out to be a great year!

Starting off the new year, I am excited and honored to have been accepted as a member of the Circle of Wine Writers, an association of circa 240 authors, writers, journalists, bloggers, broadcasters, photographers and lecturers communicating about wines and spirits.

As I look forward to 2023, I hope that it will be another productive, successful, healthy, and happy year for us all!

Upcoming monthly virtual wine events:

Forgotten Grapes Monthly Virtual Tastings with Winemakers

There are more than 3500 wineries in California. That is a lot of wineries. Many of these wineries are small, family-owned businesses making anywhere from 500-5000 cases. At Please The Palate, owner Allison Levine loves to seek out these small producers and introduce them to friends through stories and events. Each month, in partnership with Chris Kern of Forgotten Grapes, we will offer 4 wines for $109 from one of these incredible producers. You will also be invited to our virtual tasting with the owner or winemaker on the second Thursday of each month.

January offering:
Etnyre Wines (Edna Valley)
4 red wines
$109 + tax ($160 value)

February offering:
Martha Stoumen Wines (Sonoma)
1 white wines + 1 rosé wine + 2 red wines
$109 + tax ($133 value)

March offering:

If you are interested, please email me at info@pleasethepalate.com to let me know you would love to receive one of the $109 bundles (plus shipping if out of the Los Angeles area).
Forgotten Grapes is not a club and there is no commitment. Each month, a bundle of wines will be offered for a special price. If you are interested, you can order them. I’ll take your credit card and delivery information and will charge your card. If you live in Southern California, delivery is FREE and will be personally delivered to you (contactless). If you live beyond Southern California, wines can be shipped – $25 in California and $30 outside of California to Western States (AZ, NV, OR, ID). Additional states, please contact us.
