Known for infamous brunches and late night parties in New York, Bagatelle has hit the west coast! Located in the heart of West Hollywood, you will feel like you have traveled to St.Tropez where you can eat, drink and party in style.
The bar program is managed by Zach Patterson who has created the French-inspired cocktail menu. With the white decor of Bagatelle, the bright, colorful cocktails “look like a rainbow against the backdrop,” Zach explained. “There is a purple [prickly pear] drink, a yellow [passion fruit] drink and even a black drink with squid ink.” The cocktails are all light, fresh and bright, enabling customers to drink more than one, or two, or three…..so watch out!
With a real lemon tree sitting on the bar, Zach is able to pick fresh lemons as he needs them for his cocktails.
Zach tops off Le Fuzzy Bee with a little fresh lemon.
Le Fuzzy Bee (Hendrick’s Gin, Lavender Honey, Fresh Lemon Juice, Topped with Moet & Chandon Champagne) – light citrus up-front, followed by a wave of comfort, the lavendar is subtle and gentle.
La Girl from Lima (Jalapeno infused Macchu Pisco, Passion Fruit Puree, Fresh Lemon Juice, Topped with Soda Water) – sweet and tart are balanced followed by heat in the finish.
Le Remember When (Belvedere, Prickly Pear, Aperol, Elderflower Syrup, Fresh Lemon Juice, Fresh Basil) – light and tart, careful, this is a really easy one to down!
La Bajan Groove (Grey Goose La Poire, Thai Basil, Fresh Cucumber, Fresh Mint, Coconut Water, Fallernum) – a very mild cocktail, loved how the coconut water subtly comes thru.
Le Death in the Afternoon (Vanilla infused Absinthe, Fresh Pineapple Juice, Fresh Lemon Juice, Squid Ink, Topped with Moet & Chandon Champagne) – yes, the cocktail is black! It’s a fun and creative cocktail. The vanilla and licorice are nicely balanced with the pineapple juice.
I have tried almost everything on the cocktail menu and look forward to returning for another round, as well as trying the food on the next visit.
