Santa Monica Lunch Spot: Tiato

Even if you live in Santa Monica, you might not know about breakfast and lunch spot Tiato. Located on the ground floor of an office building on Colorado Blvd at Harvard Street, it is a daily destination for people who work in the area. But, even if you don’t work in this area, Tiato is worth a stop for breakfast or lunch. Tiato Tiato is a gourmet “grab and go” eatery with a retail market and a full-service dining menu. Owned by the An family, of Crustacean fame, youngest daughter Catherine An and her mother Chef Helene An have put together a menu that is fresh and healthy. From fresh juices and smoothies to wine and cocktails to soups, salads, sandwiches and entrees, there are so many tasty, healthy choices. There is a Vietnamese flair to the menu and with so much variety, this is a lunch spot you won’t get tired of. Green Iced Tea Spicy Tuna Tacos (green papaya, tomatillo, kaffir lime lecrives, onions, thai sweet chili sauce) Chicken Pot Stickers (mushrooms, onions, sesame, balsamic glaze) Crispy Goat Cheese Salad (mixed greens, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, jicama, blueberries, green onions, asian five spice dressing) Filet of Miso Sole (baby bok choy, tomatoes) Tiato Bahn Mi (Vietnamese Baguette, beef, carrots, daikon, cucumber pickles, jalapeno, cilantro) Grilled Thai BBQ Chicken (thai bbq chicken, broccollini, sauteed green tea soba noddle salad) Banana Bread Pudding Chocolate Brownies with Vanilla Ice Cream Eat inside in the open space with high ceilings, raw concrete floors and reclaimed wood panels.
