Happy New Year!!! Welcome to 2017! What a year 2016 was! Yes, there was a lot of loss last year but hopefully the year also brought you much success and happiness. For Please The Palate, 2016 was by far the busiest year in the five years since I started. Travel In 2016, I traveled 140 days! Trips took me to New York, Washington DC, Virginia, Napa, Sonoma, Lodi, Monterey, Paso Robles, Greece, Italy, France, Baja Mexico (2 times), San Francisco (9 times) and Santa Barbara (7 times). Whether for events or stories, it was exhausting but fun! Writing In 2016, I wrote 83 articles that were published and posted 78 unique blog posts. That is a total of 161 stories! I am proud to have a weekly column in the Napa Valley Register and to be a regular contributor to Wine Tourist Magazine and California Winery Advisor. I recently started writing for ATOD Magazine and LAPALME Magazine. I also had a story appear in Wine Industry Network last year. In addition, I was interviewed by Vinley Market about How To Tell If A Wine Is Good By The Label. A wine I profiled in a story was selected as a Top 10 Wine In the US Press by The Drinks Business. And, Feedspot listed the Please The Palate blog as one of the Top 100 Wine Blogs (we are currently ranked number 54). Events In 2016, I planned, marketed and promoted 51 wine events across the U.S. Stay tuned for more trade and consumer events in 2017.
