When I met a friend for lunch this week at Pikoh LA on Pico Blvd in West LA, I was very hungry. I was easily tempted by the grass-fed burger, the tonkatsu chicken sandwich and the kimchi fried rice. But, I maintained some control and decided to order the quinoa bowl and added miso salmon. This quinoa bowl at Pikoh LA was not only flavorful but healthy and is the Please The Palate pick of the week.
The quinoa bowl is filled with red and white quinoa, amaranth, picked cucumber, radish, avocado, asparagus and a cilantro huacatay pesto. I added miso glazed salmon which was perfectly cooked to medium rare. There was no shortage of avocado in the bowl and the chopped pieces of asparagus added a nice crunch. The dressing had just a touch of spice and the pickled cucumber added a sour note.
The quinoa bowl with miso salmon was filling, satisfying and above all healthy and that is why it is the Please The Palate pick of the week.
