Please The Palate Pick of the Week: Healthy Snacks from Feel Good Foods

Have you been cooking up a storm while sheltering in place? Want to take a little break from cooking but want a healthy, tasty and easy snack? Then purchase Feel Good Foods’ chef-inspired line of frozen foods, the Please The Palate pick of the week.

Breakfast pockets, potstickers, eggrolls and empanadas don’t sound like healthy snacks. But Feel Good Foods founders Tryg, a chef, and Vanessa, a home-chef who makes gluten-free foods, combined their skills and created simple, high-quality snack foods that you can keep in your freezer.

Feel Good Foods are made from fresh ingredients. Fresh vegetables, grains and oils are all non-GMO. Beef and chicken are raised without antibiotics. Eggs are cage-free and all ingredients are free of preservatives, MSG, artificial ingredients, colors, additives, and fillers. And, Feel Good Foods products are labeled gluten-free and are certified by the Gluten-Free Certification Organization (GFCO).

Feel Good Foods are made fresh and then frozen. There are breakfast pockets, snack bites made with cauliflower crust, potstickers, eggrolls and empanadas. There is a snack for everyone and not only are the ingredients high quality but the snacks are low in calories and healthy but also very flavorful.

The potstickers are choices of chicken, pork, or vegetable in a rice flour wrapper. They can be pan fried for 10 minutes or microwaved for 4 minutes. I have made them both ways. The potsticker skin is light and the I love the fresh vegetables. It is hard to believe the item had been frozen.

The eggrolls are wrapped in a rice flour blend and then battered in a rice tempura. They come stuffed with chicken, shrimp or vegetables. They can be baked or pan fried and ready in 20 minutes. After baking them in the oven, I was impressed by the crispy outside and the fresh taste of the vegetables. And one eggroll is only 90 calories and 2.5 grams of fat which means no guilt when enjoying an eggroll!

Feel Good Foods are available in grocery stores nationwide, including Whole Foods, Costco, Target and more. Next time you are looking in the frozen aisle for some easy snacks to have on hand in the freezer, instead of the fattening eggrolls filled with preservatives, pick up the eggrolls from Feel Good Foods. I know that when I need a snack during the day, I enjoy a Feel Good Foods snack from my freezer. I am satiated and satisfied with no guilt or regrets.
