Fall is officially here. And with the arrival of October, some people may call the month “Sober October” as they anticipate “Dry January”. While I respect those who choose not to drink or cannot drink, these anti-alcohol movements lump all alcohol into one group of “bad”. But to me, and many others, wine is so much more than “alcohol.” Wine is life; Wine is culture; Wine is history. Wine is friendship, camaraderie, celebration, and conversation. And that is why for me, I am celebrating the new campaign “Come Over October“.

Respected wine authority and author Karen MacNeil, together with wine industry communications professionals Gino Colangelo and Kimberly Noelle Charles, DipWSET, have created COME TOGETHER—A Community for Wine Inc, a mission-driven company committed to communicating positive messages about moderate wine consumption and the beneficial role wine plays in bringing people together.

Come Over October: Celebrating Wine and Friendship is the first campaign from Come Together and takes place the entire month of October 2024. Wine is a communal beverage that has played a role in facilitating conversation, nurturing new friendships, and deepening old ones.

Be a part of Come Over October!

Forgotten Grapes Monthly Virtual Tastings with Winemakers 

There are more than 3500 wineries in California. That is a lot of wineries. Many of these wineries are small, family-owned businesses making anywhere from 500-5000 cases. At Please The Palate, owner Allison Levine loves to seek out these small producers and introduce them to friends through stories and events. Each month, in partnership with Chris Kern of Forgotten Grapes, we will offer 4 wines for $109 from one of these incredible producers. You will also be invited to our virtual tasting with the owner or winemaker on the second Thursday of each month.

October offering:
Vega Vineyard and Farm (Santa Ynez)
1 white wine + 1 rose wine + 2 red wines
$109 + tax ($ value)

November offering:
RZN Wines (Lompoc)
2 white wines + 2 red wines
$109 + tax ($132 value)

December offering:
Omega Road Winery (Livermore Valley)
4 wines
$109 + tax

Forgotten Grapes is not a club and there is no commitment. Each month, a bundle of wines will be offered for a special price. If you are interested, you can order them. I’ll take your credit card and delivery information and will charge your card. If you live in Southern California, delivery is FREE and will be personally delivered to you (contactless). If you live beyond Southern California, wines can be shipped – $25 in California and $30 outside of California to the Western States (AZ, NV, OR, ID). For additional states, please contact us.
