When you think of Jagermeister, does it bring you back to your college days? Or perhaps you secretly enjoy Jagermeister while on a ski trip in the cold of winter. Either way, you probably are embarrassed to admit that you enjoyed this licorice liqueur sometime in your past life. But, I am hear to tell you that you may want to rethink this. At Tales of the Cocktail this year, Jagermeister hosted a Spirited Dinner called Jägermeister’s Summer of Music Spirited Dinner at the Foundation Room at the New Orleans House of Blues. I was intrigued by the invitation. The dinner was limited to 56 guests, one for each of the 56 premium ingredients in Jägermeister’s secret recipe. Jagermeister is an amazing modifier in cocktails. Top bartenders Willy Shine, Sean Kenyon, Ivy Mix and Sean Hoard mixed up delicious cocktails using Jagermeister that paired perfectly with the dinner. Sean Hoard, Sean Kenyon, Ivy Mix and Willy Shine
Got Kosher? Got Kosher? Located on Pico Blvd, near Robertson, the restaurant sounds like all of its neighbors, another kosher restaurant. But, what the name doesn't tell you is that Got Kosher? is serving up the wildly undiscovered Tunisian cuisine.....and it's really good!
As I visit more and more vegan restaurants, I feel the need to declare that I am not a vegan.....not even close. But, I say this because despite my love for dairy and meat, I continue to enjoy the meals I am having at vegan restaurants. And, Sun Cafe in Studio City is no exception. Sweet Kale Shake – kale, banana, cashew, agave, raw Sun Cafe has been in existence for five years. The first location, which they still own, is small and was more suited to prepared food-to-go. But, in their new larger location on Ventura Blvd, near Vineland, Sun Cafe is housed in a former 1920's duplex. The space is bright and open and radiates freshness with lots of seating.
There really is no shortage of good food in New Orleans. Every year that I go to Tales of the Cocktail, the list of restaurants to try is endless. This year, Tales of the Cocktail created Tales Restaurant Week where restaurants around the city offered a special price-fixed tasting menu, along with a recommended spirit cocktail, but of course.  Tivoli & Lee Our restaurant week choice was Tivoli & Lee, a modern Southern bistro at the Hotel Modern, next to the bar Bellocq, in the central business district of New Orleans.
For the fourth year in a row, foodies mixed and mingled for four days with some of the best chefs around Los Angeles and beyond at Los Angeles Food and Wine, presented by Coastal Luxury Management. More than 100 chefs and 150 wineries participated in the events throughout the weekend, and we did our best to try as many as possible. Here is a recap of our time at LA Food and Wine. As the summer comes to an end, we think back to one of the most fun and quintessential Southern California events this summer: "Evening On The Beach". There is nothing better than dressing up, kicking off your shoes and sticking your feet in the sand. Evening on the Beach With wine glass in hand, a couple hundred guests attended the 5th annual "An Evening on the Beach" in support of St. Vincent Meals on Wheels of LA.

When you were a kid and someone asked what kind of dog you had, did you ever answer "a Heinz 57 mutt"? Where did that term come from? That term is a shortened form of an advertising slogan about the numerous products, or "57 varieties", produced by the Heinz Company. And, today it means anything that is mixed from a lot of things. Fifty Seven LA's newest downtown restaurant in the arts district is located on the former loading dock of the Heinz 57 Factory and is called Fifty Seven. But, while the name may pay homage to its former tenant, it is actually quite appropriate considering the format. Fifty Seven boasts a rotating roster of "chefs in residence" who will come in for a season and create their own seasonal menu.
