Sommelier Saturdays at Del Frisco Grill in Santa Monica

The best way to learn about wine is to taste wine and taste wine and then taste more wine. The more you experience and taste, the more you will learn how to describe what you like. And, tasting with a sommelier will also help increase your vocabulary and knowledge. Classes and tastings are available all over the city. You can check with your local wine retailers as they usually offer weekly tastings and classes. And now you can enjoy your Saturday afternoon sipping wines, overlooking the beach, as Adem Sesh, Court of Masters Level II Sommelier, at Del Frisco’s Grille Santa Monica hosts an intimate, two-hour wine tasting, along with hors d’oeuvres. We attended the first Sommelier Saturday on March 29th where we tasted three Cabernets and learned about Napa Valley and the various terroirs.   And, Del Frisco’s served up some tasty bites as well. Sommelier Saturdays is a monthly wine series that takes place the last Saturday of each month at 1pm. Topics will vary each month and can include the differences between Pinot Noirs from different regions, oaked vs. unoaked Chardonnay, and the art of sounding savvy when speaking with a restaurant’s sommelier. So, mark your calendar and make a reservation by calling (310) 395-7333. For $35 you get wine, food and a little education. This is the perfect opportunity to learn more about wine if you’ve always wanted to and a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon!
