Please The Palate Wine of the Week: Fiddlehead Cellars Pink Fiddle Rose of Pinot Noir 2019, Fiddlestix Vineyard, Sta Rita Hills AVA

Rosé season is upon us! While we can now drink rosé wines year round, there is something exciting about tasting the newest releases from the previous vintage. One of the first rosé wines that I drink at the start of the year is the Fiddlehead Cellars Pink Fiddle Rose of Pinot Noir 2019, Fiddlestix Vineyard, Sta Rita Hills AVA and from its color to its aromas to its taste, it is the Please The Palate wine of the week.

The Pinot Noir is sourced from the Fiddlestix Vineyard in the Sta. Rita Hills AVA. This is the estate vineyard of Fiddlehead Cellars. The grapes spend less than 24 hours on the skins, imparting just a bit of color. Each vintage the Fiddlehead Pink Fiddle gets lighter and lighter in color and the 2019 is a beautiful shell pink shade.

The wine has aromas of fresh strawberries and cherries and on the palate has bright acidity and a lovely mouthfeel. Sip it on its own or enjoy it with food. The Fiddlehead Cellars Pink Fiddle Rose of Pinot Noir 2019, Fiddlestix Vineyard, Sta Rita Hills AVA is fresh, youthful, flirty, and fun and retails for $30.
