About Bokisch Vineyards

Liz and Markus Bokisch bought 80 acres, their first parcel of land, in Lodi, California in 1995. A few years later, in 1998, they purchased another property, Las Cerezas, as their home and in 1999 developed a small three-acre organic vineyard. Markus, who spent his summers as a child in Spain, imported bud wood from specially selected vineyards in Spain. One acre each of Albariño, Tempranillo, and Graciano was planted. The Graciano planted was the first Graciano planting in the new world. Today, Bokisch has Graciano planted in both their Las Cerezas Vineyard, located in the Mokelumni River AVA of Lodi, and their Terra Alta Vineyard located in the Clements Hills AVA of Lodi.

Tasting Notes

Graciano, a Spanish red wine grape grown primarily in Rioja, thrives in warm, arid climates. It is known for its deep red color, strong aroma, and ability to age well. The Bokisch 2022 Sparkling Rosado, Clement Hills, Lodi is made from 100% Graciano Rosado. The sparkling wine is made in the traditional method and 2022 is their second release. A vibrant salmon pink color with golden flecks, the wine is super juicy. Aromas of fresh strawberry, pomegranate, cherry, plum, stone fruits, and citrus jump out of the glass. On the palate, the wine is fresh and vibrant with some texture.
