Drink Pink at Rosé Happy Hour at Delphine at the W Hollywood

Do you really need an excuse to drink Rosé wine? Well, if you do, here are a number of reasons. It’s refreshing, versatile and, of course, the lovely pink color….after all #pinkwinemakesmehappy. And, what if you learn that $1 will go to support the fight against breast cancer everytime you buy a glass of Rosé? Do you need any more reasons??? At the new Rosé Happy Hour at Delphine Eatery & Bar at the W Hollywood, enjoy Rosé wine (and cocktails) and support a worthy cause at the same time! Rosé wine is perfect year round, but especially nice in the summer. The wine selection at Delphine offers a choice of Rosés from around the world – from France to California to Italy – for $6 per glass. We started with Listel from Camargue in the Loire Valley, France. The crisp, dry, light-bodied wine is a blend of Carignon, Grenache and Mouvedre.  Listel, Camargue, France As we sipped on the Listel Rosé, we shared a few of the lighter appetizers that Chef Robert Trester created to pair with the wines. The Carrot “Tartare” with pepper relish, whipped mustard, caramelized onion creme fraiche and chips will please both the vegetarians and those craving a fresh dish. My favorite part is the whipped mustard and creme fraiche. Carrot "Tartare" Grilled Albacore Tostada with plums, arugula and spicy aioli is a play on a traditional dish but the plums add a lovely, summer touch.Grilled Albacore Tostada Roasted Baby Beets with fuji apple, whipped burrata, kale, fennel pollen, buckwheat and honey. The whipped burrata is light and airy and I liked the crisp sweet apple with the tender beets. The crunch of the buckwheat adds an extra texture. Roasted Baby Beets As the heartier appetizers came out, they were paired with the Bertani Rosé from Veneto, Italy, made with Molinara and Merlot. Bertani, Veneto, Italy (1) This fuller-bodied rose stood up to the Duck Rillette with apple red onion marmalade and wild arugula and the Crispy Pork Belly with purple kimchi, baby turnip, onion peels and pickled mustard seeds.Duck Rillettes Crispy Pork Belly A glass of the Charles Lafitte Sparkling Rosé Brut from France was the final glass of the night and we enjoyed it with the Strawberry Filled Donuts. Charles Lafille Sparkling Rose Brut Strawberry Filled Donuts If you are feeling like you want something more than wine, the rosé options include the Rosé Sangria infused with lavender, peach, and raspberry or a Pink Champagne Cocktail with elderflower, pink grapefruit and bitters. Whether heading to the theater across the street or just looking for an happy hour spot, Rosé Happy Hour will will be our destination for the next few months. Rosé Happy Hour will be offered Monday – Friday, 5pm – 8pm, from August through the end of October, coinciding with Breast Cancer Awareness Month the month of October. And, remember, $1 from each drink will go to support the fight against breast cancer (as if you needed another reason to drink Rosé). And, on a side note, make it a double happy hour by heading to Delphine on Monday nights when it’s also Raw Bar Monday and then step outside into the W Hotel Courtyard where free movies are shown on a 35 ft screen.
