About Barton & Guestier

Founded in 1725 by Irishman Thomas Barton in Bordeaux, Barton & Guestier is the city’s oldest active wine house. In 1802, Thomas’ grandson Hugh partnered with Frenchman Daniel Guestier, formalizing a legacy that now spans three centuries. From barrels shipped via the Garonne River to over 130 countries worldwide, B&G represents the diversity and richness of French winemaking across Bordeaux, Loire, Burgundy, Beaujolais, Rhône, Provence, Languedoc, Gascony, and Corsica. Today, the house works with 200 partner winemakers across 23 appellations and 20 grape varieties, consistently blending tradition with innovation.

About the Côtes de Provence “Tourmaline” 2024

This limited-edition rosé is a blend of 37% Grenache, 25% Syrah, 22% Cinsault, 7% Rolle (Vermentino), 6% Carignan, and 4% Mourvèdre. Grapes are destemmed and left on the skins for a few hours before stainless steel fermentation, then aged on the fine lees for two months. The result is a pale, peach-skin-colored rosé with delicate aromas of peach, apricot, red apple, pomegranate, raspberry, and white flowers. On the palate, it’s crisp yet voluminous, lively, and fresh.

Food Pairing

Enjoy as an aperitif or with salads, grilled fish, and other Mediterranean-inspired dishes. Its balance of freshness and flavor makes it versatile for casual sipping or elegant dining. I opened this wine to enjoy in the late afternoon after a long day sitting at my desk. I paired it with Mediterranean bites, including dolmas, feta cheese, and avocado hummus. As I sipped the fresh wine, pairing with these Mediterranean bites, I closed my eyes and was transported back to enjoying an aperitif by the Mediterranean Sea this past summer.
