Trying to decide where to take your next trip?  Looking for great tips?  The 14th Annual LA Times Travel Show took place at the Los Angeles Convention Center January 28-29, 2012.  Travel experts such as Arthur Frommer, Rick Steves, Rudy Maxa, Adam Richman, Lisa Ling and many others shared their insights and trends in today's travel.
Oh how I love Pinot Noir!  With descriptors that range from black and/or red cherry, raspberry, strawberry and currant to mushroom, earth, forest, smoke, incense and spice, Pinot Noir shines when paired with food.  At the end of January, the 3rd Annual Southern California Pinot Days took place at Barker Hanger in Santa Monica.  With close to 100 producers, there were Pinots from Central Coast, Northern California, Oregon and Burgundy to taste.  With only a couple hours to taste, here are just a few of my favorites:
It's fun to try the newest restaurants as they open.  But Los Angeles, the vast city that it is, is filled with gems that have been around for years......and rightfully so!  A recent outing took us to Jitlada, Authentic Thai Cuisine, located on Sunset Blvd, between Western and Normandie.  Tucked in a strip mall with a gift/thai massage store next door, this restaurant has been touted by Jonathan Gold, Angeleno Magazine and Zagat, to name a few.
