The Beverly Wilshire Hotel, yes the famous one where Pretty Woman was filmed, has been an iconic landmark on Wilshire Blvd and Rodeo Drive for 90 years. Located on the second floor is a rooftop space that overlooks Wilshire Blvd. In the 1960s and 70s it was the Garden Lounge but for the past 30+ years, it has been an empty concrete space used for private events....until now. Just in time for summer, the rooftop has been converted into the Secret Rosé Garden and it is the Please The Palate pick of the week. From the main lobby of the Beverly Wilshire Hotel, head up to the second floor and enter room 211 which has been carpeted pink. Through room 211, another door opens to the rooftop.
#releasetherose should be the new hashtag as Rosé season is here! This past week, Fiddlehead Cellars in Santa Ynez released the Fiddlehead Cellars 2017 Pink Fiddle, Fiddlestix Vineyard, Sta. Rita Hills, their first wine released in 2018 and is the Please The Palate pick of the week. I had the pleasure to taste the wine at Fiddlehead's annual Pink Dinner Party, an event I look forward to each year as it falls within a few days of my birthday. We were dressed in pink, the winery was decorated in pink and we drink a lot of pink wine. I have been a fan of the Fiddlehead's Rosé but the 2017 is a real standout!
This story originally appeared in the Napa Valley Register. #DrinkPink #ThinkPink #PinkWineMakesMeHappy #RoséTime #RoséAllDay #RoséEveryday – The hashtags for rosé wine abound! With summer here, the shelves are lined with various shades of pink.
Rosé is so refreshing, so delicious and the perfect wine to pair with just about anything. Rosé wines are made all over the world but the home of rosé is Provence, France. As the sun shines, the temperatures rise and I open a bottle of rosé, I recall my recent visit to Provence and to Chateau Gassier.
Provence is a large region in the southeast of France. There are three main AOP (Appellation d’Origine Protégée) in Provence: Côteaux d’Aix-en-Provence, Côteaux Varois and Côtes de Provence.
