Mountain Vineyard Wines from Napa Valley and Sonoma

Sam Baxter, Terra Valentine
Craig Becker, Priest Ranch

From lab partners at UC Davis to neighbors on Spring Mountain, Sam Baxter of Terra Valentine and Craig Becker of Priest Ranch feel more like brothers. Join them and learn about the wonderful wines they make from fruit sourced from mountain vineyards in Napa and Sonoma and understand how fruit from mountain vineyards influences the wines.

Terra Valentine

Sam Baxter stands tall among an esteemed few, of the next generation of Napa Valley winemakers. Baxter literally grew up in the grapevines, trailing father Phil, whose winemaking made a legendary mark in the late ’60s when the Napa Valley first experienced international notoriety as a respected winegrowing region. Terra Valentine sources from Spring Mountain whose varied terrain shines through in the robust yet balanced style of the wines–exhibiting the true essence of the Spring Mountain District. While mountain viticulture presents its challenges, for Terra Valentine, it comes down to hand-tending the vines to get the most out of the diverse soil types and ripening patterns that the mountain bears. The reward–wines ripe with intense flavor and color.

  • 2018 Kick Ranch Sauvignon Blanc, Sonoma
  • 2016 Foretell Pinot Noir Fort Ross-Seaview
  • 2015 K Block Cabernet Sauvignon

Somerston Wine Co

The Somerston Estate was created by combining two historic properties, the 660-acre Priest Ranch and the 955-acre Lynch Ranch. Our majestic, 1,615-acre property includes over 215 acres of sustainably farmed hillside vineyards with elevations ranging from 800 feet to 1,650 feet. It is located high in the Vaca Mountains of the eastern Napa Valley. The estate grown limited production wines are produced from 100 separate blocks for the discerning collector. With each vintage, we individually select the blocks used to produce these wines. Focused on producing Bordeaux style wines that reflect the quality and unique nature of our property, we currently offer a Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc.

  • 2016 Mauser Cabernet Sauvignon
  • 2016 Double Barrel (50/50 blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot)
  • 2014 Coach Gun Red Blend

Each tasting is $500 and includes 3 wines. Sign up for one or both. Either way, you can stay for the entire Zoom tasting.

About GO Campaign:

GO Campaign invests strategically in solution oriented, community-based and under-funded organizations that address the root causes of problems affecting vulnerable youth. GO Campaign identifies deserving local heroes throughout the world and partners with these organizations to provide children and young adults with critical services, resources and needed opportunities. The GO Campaign works with a number of local Los Angeles area grassroots “heroes” who run programs that give opportunities to vulnerable children and youth (under age 25). There are a variety of LA programs that GO has vetted, works with and gives grants to that benefit children in our community. It is these LA area programs/grantees that Vintage Hollywood will support.
