Who Are The Goliaths:
In California, 93% of the wine grapes planted consist of nine grapes. Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Grigio, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Sirah, and Zinfandel.

These are grapes we all know, and we love.

Who Are The Davids:
There are more than 100 grape varieties that make up the remaining 7% of plantings in California. These are not necessarily “unknown” grapes but rather “forgotten grapes” due to the limited availability.
