An intimate class of eight will learn special techniques and professional tips for preparing authentic Chinese fare and signature dishes that will appear on the restaurant’s Year of the Goat menu

Recognized as one of the top restaurants in Los Angeles for Chinese cuisine, WP24 Restaurant will be opening its kitchen to the public for its first-ever “behind-the-scenes” cooking demonstration in preparation for the Chinese New Year. With expert training from the Academy of Culinary Arts, coupled with years of experience working under the direction of Wolfgang Puck, Chef de Cuisine John Lechleidner will share his wealth of knowledge and culinary technique applied to the preparation of WP24’s fine Chinese fare.

During the course of the tutorial, guests will have an opportunity to learn authentic techniques and professional tips for preparing dim sum, stir-fry, and a selection of dishes that will be a part of WP24 Restaurant’s special “Year of the Goat” dinner menu.

Additionally, Chef Lechleidner will share recommendations on ordering, enjoying, and cooking authentic Chinese fare, including:

  • Essential Chinese ingredients and cooking utensils for meals that can easily be prepared at home
  • Must-order dishes to sample staple Chinese cuisine and regional delicacies
  • How to distinguish authentic fare from its Americanized counterpart
  • The regional variations of popular dishes such as the difference between chow fun, chow mein, and lo mein
