Almost 70% of all Montsant produced wines are now exported all over the word. Thewines from Montsant reflect the rugged lands of the Red and White Garnacha, the Carignan and Macabeu grapes, which have become the new star of the wines from Catalonia. The New York Times praised the Montsant as a DO (wine appellation) that “has reinvented (itself)…and new producers have jumped into the global fray”.
