Please The Palate Pick of the Week: The Secret Rosé Garden at the Beverly Wilshire

The Beverly Wilshire Hotel, yes the famous one where Pretty Woman was filmed, has been an iconic landmark on Wilshire Blvd and Rodeo Drive for 90 years. Located on the second floor is a rooftop space that overlooks Wilshire Blvd. In the 1960s and 70s it was the Garden Lounge but for the past 30+ years, it has been an empty concrete space used for private events….until now. Just in time for summer, the rooftop has been converted into the Secret Rosé Garden and it is the Please The Palate pick of the week.

From the main lobby of the Beverly Wilshire Hotel, head up to the second floor and enter room 211 which has been carpeted pink. Through room 211, another door opens to the rooftop.

The rooftop has been converted into a charming and enchanting secret garden. There is something almost magical about the space. The 6,000 square-foot space has been covered by green astro turf. A 55-foot floral wall greets you and to the right you will find an area to play bocce and badminton. To the left is an open space with community farm tables that leads to a romantic cafe setting. Carrera marble tables and woven bistro chairs are set on a wooden floor and a beautiful floral installation floats above.

Everything is coming up roses and rosé in the Secret Rosé Garden at Beverly Wilshire. Sparkling and still rosé is served, as well as rosé-inspired cocktails and frosé.

Food is also available from a light menu curated by Executive Chef Samir Roonwal. Items such as caviar, oysters, Black Truffle and Comté Fritters, Petit Finger Sandwiches and more will pair perfectly with a glass of rosé

Desserts have been created by celebrity pastry chef Chris Ford and the dessert menu includes rose and rosé-inspired confections such as the Caramelized Rose with Violet-Salted Caramel, Mascarpone Mousse, Passion Fruit and Chocolate Rose Petals. Other dessert options include the Rosé Sundae with Rosé Sherbet, Tahitian Vanilla Bean Meringue Kisses, Almond Marshmallows and Raspberry Rosé Gummies finished with 23k Gold in a Sparkling Rosé Float.

The Secret Rosé Garden is open daily from from 3:00pm-10:00pm (currently through September 3, 2018). Select seating is available on a first come, first served basis and reserved seating is available for a maximum of 2 hours for $100-$350. So while the summer heat is here, enjoy a night sipping rosé under the roses at the Secret Rosé Garden at the Beverly Wilshire, the Please The Palate pick of the week.
