06 Jun Aviation American Gin Says “Show Us Your Cocktail Art” in a Facebook Photo Contest

From Wednesday, May 22 – Wednesday, July 3, Aviation American Gin is asking fans to upload your best cocktail photos to the Aviation American Gin Facebook page.  Enter for a chance to win the ultimate cocktail-lover’s getaway grand prize, including an all-expenses paid trip to Portland, tour and tasting at renowned House Spirits Distillery, bartending classes and more!

Here’s what you have to do:

• Step 1: Become a fan of Aviation Gin on Facebook
• Step 2: Upload your photo according to each week’s cocktail art theme via Facebook
• Step 3: Share your entry with friends and check back often to see if you’ve won!

Each Wednesday during the contest period, Aviation American Gin posts the new weekly theme and announces the weekly prize winner. Week 1, the cocktail theme was “BBQs and Booze” in honor of Memorial Day weekend; Week 2, the cocktail theme was “Colorful Cocktails.”  Now it’s time for Week 3 and the theme is…….“Cocktails with Friends.”

To get into the theme, I had a little fun with some bartender friends…..Chis Amirault and Kiowa Bryan, who both work at Eveleigh on Sunset Blvd.  As I love gin, I asked them to whip up some Aviation American Gin cocktails for me and the rivalry began. After a couple dirty looks at each other, they got to work.

Chris got started making a Layered Aviation, a truly classic version of an Aviation cocktail made with Aviation Gin, lemon juice, Maraschino liqueur and Creme de Violette. The violet-hued cocktail was not only pretty to look at but had floral notes and was refreshing and tart on the palate.

Kiowa made an Aviation Spritz (Aviation Gin, Cocchi Americano, lemon juice and Yellow Chartreuse), a refreshing, light cocktail that was a little too easy to drink.

The end result of the little rivalry was two delicious cocktails made by friends and enjoyed with friends.
